Joyful stage time for every dancer

Opportunities to perform, connect, and grow, without the pressure of auditions or extremes of a traditional competition team

Our team philosophy

At The Dance Compound, our Performance Team is all about encouragement, expression, and community, not exclusivity or perfection.

This is how we do it differently:

  • No audition required — Everyone who wants to perform can join!

  • Sustainable involvement — Rehearse or perform at select events and keep your weekends open.

  • Real community shine — Supportive rehearsals packed with encouragement and connection.

  • Flexible membership — You choose performances that fit your schedule and interest.

What to expect

  • Train

Train year-round with our Performance Team in any of our classes. Regular attendance and commitment to class and choreography are important components of this program.

  • Team

We dance together. Work together. And, we play together. We enjoy fun team-building events and workshops. We are a community - we are a team!

  • Perform

We love to perform all year-round, whether it is at a Holiday Festival, spring time Competition event, our Spring Showcase, or for our on-screen Concept Videos.

Who can join?

Everyone. From first-time dancers to seasoned movers who want more performance but less pressure.
Our inclusive model supports all: if your child wants to share their love of dance, we want them on stage.

Program information

  • Anyone can join! We accept all dancers, no matter their level or ability.

We pride ourselves on providing a great Team atmosphere and unique performance opportunities to anyone and everyone!

The commitment of each Performance Team member is year-long, September to June. So each dancer must be enrolled in a weekly dance class with The Dance Compound for each of the three sessions we offer: Fall, Winter and Spring.

  • No audition is required!

  • Each team member is enrolled year-round in a weekly dance class with TDC, and invited to performance in Community events, at Competitions and on-screen for our unique Concept Videos.

    Additional rehearsals may be required.

  • We attend 2 to 3 dance Competition events each Spring as a Team.

Dance competitions are a great way to perform your dance(s) on stage and watch other dancers and studios from around the city. We find these events are great stepping-stones to getting the dance(s) ready for our Concept Videos!

  • It is important that dancer experience different performance opportunities throughout their training, such as dance on film, local performances, and more.

Each year we perform at local markets and events, TDC’s Spring Showcase, and in Concept Videos.

Our signature take away and performance opportunity from the year is our Concept Videos. Each dancer gets to take part in a Concept Video, whether it be a group dance or solo. Each Concept Video is unique and professionally-filmed.

  • Each team member is invited to our Team Building events and group Workshops. We usually have a Holiday party, and more!

  • Group rehearsals usually take place during the week either before or after the dancers’ regular classes.

Solos, duos, and trios are rehearsed on select Saturdays or Sundays. Dancers are not required for each weekend - only for their pre-scheduled rehearsals.

  • The additional costs can vary for each Team member, depending on the amount of year-long class they are enrolled in and how many Performance Team dances they are taking part in.

Some additional costs are competition event entry fees, costume fees, and choreography and practice fees.

How to join our Performance Team

Every dancer’s journey is different — and we’re here to help you find the path that fits.

  1. Start the Conversation
Reach out and tell us about your dancer. What are their interests, experience, and what lights them up.

  2. Let’s Explore the Options
We’ll walk you through what the Performance Team offers and help you discover the level of involvement that works best for your family.

  3. Try a Rehearsal
Your dancer is welcome to attend a session and see what the energy feels like — no pressure, no commitment.

  4. Make it Official (or not yet!)
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll get you set up with rehearsal schedules, performance dates, and all the team perks. If not, we’ll help you find another class that’s a better match.
