We have decided to temporarily suspend ALL on-site dance classes at the studio facility.

This now includes all competitive classes and rehearsals, in addition to our sessional classes (mini, youth and teen).

We are hopeful that this temporary suspension will only last for the next two weeks, and we are able to begin our Spring Session on April 1 as planned. As the situation seems to be changing on a daily basis, we will update you all as we get closer to April.

Miss Megan and Miss Kelsea have been working hard in the studio to bring you all some fun and interactive pre-recorded dance classes. In addition to these online classes, we will be sharing our music playlists, colouring pages, and other online activities with you all, to help keep all of our kiddos busy and engaged.

We are also exploring the opportunity of hosting live classes online via webcam, so stay tuned for more details on how we can still connect (and dance) together!

Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time. We are all in this together.

Stay safe, and keep dancing!

Hello Dance Community,

To help contain the spread of COVID-19 we have made the decision to temporarily postpone on-site sessional dance classes effective TOMORROW, SATURDAY MARCH 14.

We will NOT be hosting any sessional dance classes at the studio facility this weekend, Saturday March 14 or Sunday March 15.

We know these are challenging times, as we all are continually monitoring the COVID-19 guidance given from AHS and WHO.  There have been many developments since our last email to you all, and the situation continues to shift quickly.

Although not mandatory, we feel we can and should help contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus (“flattening the curve”).

This decision was not made lightly. Considering the most recent developments over the past two days, we believe this is the responsible thing to do to ensure the health and safety of our dancers, their families, the Dance Compound faculty, and our local community. We will continue to monitor guidance from public health officials and provide updates when necessary.

With this temporary pause, we now shift our focus to providing VIRTUAL CLASSES to our dance community. Pre-recorded dance classes and exercises will be sent to each family via email soon.

We hope that these online videos will allow your dancer to have some fun, let loose, move around and continue their dance education with us. These videos will not expire, so you may start or stop them as your schedule requires, and you can refer back to them at a later time (especially if the containment situation is prolonged). We hope to continually add to our video library, so there will continue to be fun and interactive exercises for your dancer to do at home.

We are still accepting registration for our Spring Session. We are optimistic for the pre-determined start date of April 1.

Any important developments and/or changes related to our Spring Session will be communicated with all of our registered families asap.

All full-year and competitive rehearsals are running as usual, until further notice. This includes our upcoming rehearsals on Sunday, March 16 at the studio facility.

We have been in contact with all three dance competitions, and to-date, everything is still running as scheduled. Arts Commons has suspended performances in the Martha Cohen Theatre (the venue for two of our competitions) temporarily, but we have been assured that there is still no changes to our competition schedules, as we are still a few weeks away from the start of the season.

We will be reaching out to all competitive families directly to discuss this further.

Your support during this time is greatly appreciated and we look forward to being back to normal routines and dancing together again soon.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out!

Miss Kelsea
